Since Venice has been so lazy the last few months and there
are no shows to review....how about live moments?

I´ll never forget them playing "Ocean" just as the sun was
setting. Santa Monica pier. Dont remember what year. `93, 94?

I remember Kip raising his arms (Moses-like) to the amazing
sunset behind him and saying something like "Wow, this kind
of beauty is perfect timing for this song."

Then when they started singing, whoah, out of body type
of thing.

What´s you´re moment?

Matt, excellent pull but no.

It was either later in the day or later in the year. The whole
world was orange. "Not enduced".

Maybe a year or two later.

Thanx though, still brought back the memory.

There are many, but a few that come to mind are:

1. At the Arcadia in the Fall of 1999; the first time I heard "Starting Here Again" live. When Mark stepped back from the mic and I saw and heard how that echo was created after hearing it so many times on the B&R album, I was spellbound with chills down my spine. Awesome.

2. When I traveled to Holland in 2000 and the band did their first show of the tour in Amsterdam at de Melkweg. I had seen Mark before the show and about halfway through, he whispered to Kipp, pointed toward where Shari and I were standing in the audience, and Kipp said they had some friends who came to see them all the way from America...THAT was pretty cool!

I could go on and on with Venice moments, but let's hear from somebody else now.

I've got maybe a lesser uplifting memory than you have, but I'll tell it anyway.

A few years back, I went to a concert of a band named Venice, which I really didn't know anything about. For all I cared, it could have been polka-music, me and my friends just went anyway.

When they first got on stage, I saw Mark and thought that they were countrysingers rotfl
I'm sorry, that wasn't meant to be rude in any way, he just reminded me of Tim McGraw in some strange kind of way (who I love by the way).

ANYWAY............

I was put back in my place soon enough, because when our cowboy opened his mouth to sing, I knew how Gabriel must have sound if he could sing....

Peter Gabriel can't sing? No wonder it's taking so long between albums.

Hi Susan,
I can't imagine Mark would take being compared to Tim McGraw as rude (Tim is a great entertainer and very sexy as is Mark!), but Mark is a better singer. You are right, he sings like an angel.

Pat also sings like an angel. What about Guinnevere. But hey they all sound like angels.

For me there were so many special moments, but there's one moment which will stay in my heart forever. It's a rather sad one, at lease that day I wasn't feeling that happy. It was on July 7th 2001. My grandmother died earlier that week and on that Saturdaymorning I went to the funeral while for the evening I had a ticket for the Venice show in Helmond. I was hesitating, "should I go?" I wasn't in a partymood at all. But lateron I thought, "go, 'cause you might find comfort in hearing them sing live" And so I did go. And yes, I found great comfort in hearing the songs live. Never forget that evening. Thanx so much guys!!
