I have heard there was an article about the Mark and John tour in the Telegraaf last week. Probably on wednesday september 7....
Seems it was a pretty positive one too. I haven't seen it unfortunatly.
Has anyone read it? Can you tell us about it or maybe put it here? I'm pretty curious....
Thanks!

Hey Miriam,
maybe you mean this article..... By coincidence, I read it somewhere today..... ;)
Maybe someone will translate this????
Net zoals m'n solo-cd 'The demo sessions'. Here it is...
2 voices, one guitar.
Lennon is no stranger to our country. The singer has been here before, dozens of times, together with his brother Michael and cousins Pat and Kipp Lennon (who in turn are brothers too) but then as Venice. The Californian band from the American beach town with the same name, is famous for their beautiful harmonies, which are a great success in our country. All four men are singers/songwriters, so it’s no wonder that there are some songs left over. "I think I have about seventy songs laying around," Mark says from sunny California. "All of them rejected by Venice through the years. I want to use them now."
For this occasion, the singer has teamed up with John Vester, a singer/songwriter from the same town, who has written for Venice a number of times, and helped them write songs. The two men are coming to Holland to do a tour called “Two Voices, One Guitar.” Mark Lennon over the wire: "I met John about ten years ago, here in Venice, at the sushi bar across the street. We went over to his house, listened to his songs, and before the end of the evening I was singing harmonies to his songs. What we are preparing to do now, "Two Voices, One Guitar," is new to us too. We had a try-out in the local guitar shop here in Venice last week. Two hours of singing, taking turns at songs, 32 songs in all. And it worked!" Vester: "Also thanks to Mark's humor, I must add. Sometimes he is more of a stand-up comedian.” What is the difference between these shows and Venice? "Not having to share the proceeds with dozens of others, haha! Also, no soundchecks that take hours, no roadies. Things are a lot less complicated.” John Vester is no stranger to our country either. He has toured here solo three times. According to Vester, our country is a rarity in the world of music, where people are interrested in hearing music. "And let me tell you, that is terrific. Here you get the appreciation you are looking for." Mark Lennon wants to emphasize that this does not mean he is stepping away from Venice. "On the contrary. But it is a very nice change. Just something in between. We bring new songs during our shows, but also some old things and of course some Venice songs.”

Mark Lennon and John Vester are giving a series of unique concerts.
Two resounding names. The first one is leadsinger of the succesfull formation Venice; the second is a well-known singer/songwriter with an impressive resumé.
Mark and John share a passion for music. The shows in and around Venice Beach are an absolute must-see. This month the illustrious duo visits our country for the first time for an unique series of “unplugged” concerts. “2 Voices and 1 Guitar”
John Vester makes music that grabbes you. The christal clear voice of Mark Lennon is inspiring. It is an unique combination. Together they gave the audience the most beautifull songs.
Venice Beach is inspiring. The famous town on the ocean shore, only a short distance from Los Angeles, is as far away from the hectics of a worldcity as possible.
Venice Beach is relaxed. The boardwalk is a place for surfers, musicians and artists to gather.
John Vester, born in Cincinnatti, moved to Venice in 1978, the same year that Mark Lennon joined the band that was named after Venice Beach.
“Together with my brother Micheal and our cousins Kipp and Pat. I was fourteen. Music has been, and still is a part of my life. Besides making music I decorate t-shirts, pants, bags and other items. More and more shops are selling my collection, all over the United States. Even Cher owns some cloths that were decorated by me. Musically I have been fortunate enough to have worked with Phil Collins, Stevie Nicks, Jackson Browne and David Crosby. Music is emotion”
His first album “The Demo Sessions” is laying on the table.
“A collection of new and older demo-songs I have recorded in the last years, mostly at home. Nothing like a solo album or an attempt to make a solo album. Most of the songs have been recorded the day I wrote them. Just an album for those who are interested. An album of songs I wanted to share.” This is typical for Mark
This album of opportunity is released at the same time as another, equally unique maxi-single.
Five gourgious songs, sung by John Vester and Mark. “Just a little appetizer of our concers” Mark continues. “We will be doing 15 shows together. On The 21st of September the rest of the band, Venice will be coming over for an acoustic concert in “De Grote Kerk” in Apeldoorn. Something I am really looking forward to. There are still some tickets left, and just like the album they can only be ordered trough the Internet. I am so happy with this opportunity."
John Vester and Mark Lennon can be seen between the 9th and the 21th of September, in among other places, Dordrecht, Hardenberg, Venlo, Wormer, Nijega, Amsterdam and Apeldoorn.
