I was surfing the net, and found the following interview with David Crosby, back in the nineties. He talks about Venice in that interview, and I though you might like to read it.
Here comes:

Kipp Lennon is from the band, Venice, another overlooked pearl. Do you know about Venice?

Q: No, I don't.

A: Venice is the best vocal group in America right now. They're better than Boyz2Men, and they're better than Crosby, Stills and Nash, and they're better than anybody else I know.

Q: That's a pretty strong claim. How come they haven't been promoted as such?

A: Because they are not clones of whatever the hell is at the top of the charts. They're fantastic. I'm not exaggerating. They're unsigned, they don't even have a record deal. They write all their own material and they are fantastic. And that's another one that pisses me off. Anyway, how we did it? That band, what you heard was a DAT, two track, off the board, except for one song which was "Hero," because Kipp came in too loud on the entrance of the harmony so we had to go back to the twelve track. We had a twelve track ADAT running at the same time. The rest of the entire record is a two track DAT. I swear to God, on my word of honor. It got played just like that.

Q: Why did you choose to record it that way?

A: We were just running a DAT and it was just one of those nights where everything worked.

Q: Did you intend on recording it for an album?

A: No. We were just trying to have as much fun as we could, which is basically my philosophy of life. Nobody does solo music unless they're sitting up there on a stool with one guitar by themselves. Obviously, anytime you're playing with a band like that, they're a large part of what happens. Those guys are master players and that was one of my favorite nights that I can ever remember. I was singing up there in the top end of what I can do. We just caught it.

Q: How do you manage to achieve that level of spontaneity out of such extremely polished and accomplished players?

A: We only rehearsed once. When you get guys that are that good, you don't rehearse them too much. If you listen really closely, you hear a couple of places where we blew the ending completely. Where I was suppose to go to another change but forgot. It was a great night.
