Annabelle, Helga, Karin, I'm not sure in which thread to put this, but the moderators can move it, if so needed......

VENICE TREATS US TO A BIT OF THAT HIPPIE FEELING

Great Atmosphere In Eindhoven's Music Center

by Peter Borgers

Two sets of brothers and cousins to each other, Venice keeps the vocal talent in the family. The American band maintains a high standard when it comes to close harmony, with four Lennons behind the mics. Vocally this band is right up there with the best, a packed Music Center testifies to that.
Kipp, Pat, Mark and Michael Lennon immediately win the audience over with their fantastic singing. For whether it is solo, two, three or even four part harmony: everything rolls smoothly out of their golden vocal cords. Their voices are flawlessly in tune with each other, pitch and timing are in perfect harmony.
Venice is from California and their musical roots go back to The Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Bands that have also raised their harmony skills to an art form and by doing so have gained millions of fans. That status is not in the cards for the Lennons, although they are immensely popular in our country, thanks to The Two Meter Sessions. This is why the band recorded its most recent album here and why two of the accompanying musicians are Dutch, one of which is Kane drummer Martijn Bosman.
Those who influenced Venice found a way to go beyond the musical aspect of it and became the voice of their generation.
Everybody can sing at least one of their songs. This is also not likely where Venice is concerned, although they do know how to turn their audience into a choir. And it has to be said that Eindhoven sings very well! The Lennon family are very much aware of the importance of alternating good rocking songs with the more intimate ones that have a special atmosphere. The feeling is good from the start and as the show moves along, there is a great atmosphere, in which this music flourishes. A little bit of that hippie feeling and songs filled with beautiful four part harmony thoughts and intentions.
So why is Venice not as famous as the other bands? Partially that is due to the songs.
Nothing wrong with those; these gentlemen write good songs, with catchy refrains, nice melodies and often a message. Yet they do not measure up to CSN&Y's or Brian Wilson's masterpieces; they don't linger as forcefully in your head. But a part of it lies in the fact that this world is just not very appreciative anymore of sweet songs such as these.
It does not bother the four Lennons, they come and join their fans for a chat in the foyer after the show. This is how they remain to be just ordinary guys who can sing so beautifully.

P.S. The use of paragraphs is very irregular, but I used the writer's layout - so don't shoot me, I'm only the translator.

Thanks!!

Yes, I'am so happy with just another positive article!!!

Maybe you can give the quy's this article during a meet and greet!
I am sure they will love it!

And for me is what I am loving most about the music of Venice is that they are always writing songs just about their own life and experiences!
And that is exactly why so much people do regognize themselves in their lyrics!
