I liked the new cd, bud I think it's a pity that there are so less double vocals, if you understand what I meen. Because that's what I liked the most aboud venice. I hope the next cd has many vocals again!!! Machiel

I still think it's very Venice. It's a bit different than the other CD's, but it's definately Venice and I like it very much. When every CD sounds like all other CD's why bringing out a new one? I think it's refreshing when every CD has a different sound and a difference performance of songs. When you hear the first album it's totaly different then B&R or the others. It's more rocky and I think i't has a lot of Toto influances on it and it's one of my most favorite albums of Venice, just because it's different than the other albums. On all CD's they sing together and you can hear the harmonies, also on the new one, just a few solo's like also on the other albums. For me it's Venice sound.

I totally agree with Ellen on this one, Machiel.
To me, this is one of the special qualities of Venice. They are not the kind of band that says 'OK, we have found a SOUND, this is it, let's stick to that". This is a band that is constantly developing and growing. And it makes me look out for every new album, because I want to know how they will surprise me this time. And every time, the new album has taken a few weeks to grow on me, but by then it wouldn't come out of my cd-player anymore. As a Venice fan and a music lover I think of myself as a fortunate observer in their growing process, and I really hope I will be able to be that for a long long time (as in many more albums to come :p ).
Real people don't live in the past, they live in the here and now. Venice is real.

I agree with you girls! I already told this to Machiel on the Dutch forum. I'm happy with the new album and I like the variety on 'wttroyl'! They still sing in beautifull harmony and i think the new songs do it very well in concerts?!And like Ellen said; you don't want every record to sound the same as all the others? But it's ok to have your own opinion, offcourse:) This is just how i feel about 'WTTROYL';)

I read and heard very differend oppinions about Venice...
But what means the "Venice-sound" to you, what song is the ultimate example of the "Venice-sound" if you want to call it that way!

Listen to the "simplest" Venice song. Then peel it
like an onion. Layer upon layer of a damn big onion.
To me, thatīs the Venice sound. Every record is new
to me every time I listen. So I guess all the records are
the same...in that way.

Cool statement, Greg. I like your angle.. & totally agree. You've just explained to me how I can put on a Venice CD, push the shuffle and repeat button and listen to it all day long without getting bored.
SPOT ON!!
